love bite danger (Social media)
Lifestyle News: In the world of love, people often adopt many unique ways to express their feelings. One of these is "hickey," or what is also called "love bite" in common language. It looks like just a small mark, but have you ever thought that this innocent romantic gesture can even take your life?
Recently, some cases recorded in medical science have turned this question into a shocking truth. Experts say that a hickey, if given under certain circumstances, can cause such a reaction in the body that it can cause stroke, paralysis, or even death.
A hickey is formed when a person sucks or lightly bites his partner's skin. This causes the micro blood vessels (blood capillaries) under the skin to burst and blood clots in that part. Result: A dark red or purple round mark is formed on the skin. This is a type of bruise.
It may sound strange, but in 2010, a 17-year-old teenager in New Zealand died only because a hickey on her neck caused a blood clot. According to doctors, the clot reached the brain through her carotid artery and caused a stroke.
Dr. Shrey Srivastava explains, "If the hickey is given with too much force, it can affect the veins in the neck. This can lead to a clot, which can reach the heart or brain and become fatal.
If the skin is cut while giving a hickey, bacteria can enter the blood directly from there. This can cause blood infection, allergy, or severe irritation. At the same time, a very deep hickey puts pressure on the nerves of the neck, which can cause temporary numbness or a headache.
If a person experiences these symptoms after a hickey, then a doctor should be contacted immediately:
It is no longer wise to ignore a hickey, considering it just a sign of love. It is important that the youth also understand the scientific facts behind their romantic expressions. There may be passion in love, but concern for the limits and health of the body should be paramount.
